It was two months before I turned seventeen when I returned to Connecticut. My
grandparents were there to meet me. I stayed with them for two days before catching
my flight back to Angel Grove. My father was at the airport to meet me.
"Hey Jessi." Dad said holding arms open.
"Hey dad. I missed you." I lied.
"Come on," he said grabbing my hand; "I have something for you."
He helped me with my bags then led me out to his car. As he took me home, I took
in everything. The noises, smell, the people everything. He pulled up in front
of a mansion with a black Corvette sitting in the driveway.
"Why are we here?" I inquired.
"Come on." He got out the car and waited for me in the driveway. I followed him
into the house. It was huge.
"What's all this?"
"Happy Birthday Jessi." I had a very confused look on my face. Then I realized
what he was saying; "Come on, the best part is out back." As he hurried ahead
of me I chased after him. A covered out door gym with an in ground pool.
"Wow." I exclaimed; "This is all mine?"
"Sure is. The Vette in the driveway too." It almost seemed that he was making
for shipping me away.
"How can you afford all this?"
"Your grandmothers business. I was made president two years ago. Very well paying."
He had a smile of pride on his face. It disgusted me. There was something in his
eyes, I couldn't read.
After showing me around my new home. All fourteen bedrooms and thirteen bathrooms.
Completely furnished. Then the car, he left. I just wanted to see my brother again.
So that's what I did. I knew where he would be.
The Angel Grove Youth Center was minutes from my house. He was teaching a class
when I walked in. No one recognized me. Not even Zack when he saw me. I walked
over to the counter and ordered a soda, then sat back and watched. The owner of
the bar, Ernie came up to me.
"Do I know you?" He asked. I turned around.
"I sure hope so." I said with a smile. It was the smile that did it.
"Jessi Scott. Well I'll be darned. It's good to see you."
"You too Ernie."
"Visiting again?"
"Nope, not this time. I'm here to stay."
"Good, I'm glad to hear that. Jason will be happy to see you." Ernie wandered
over to a few other customers.
As I looked around I noticed the whole gang was there. Jason, Zack, Billy, Trini
and Kim. Zack was the only one sitting down. He was talking to an absolutely gorgeous
guy who was casually looking at me acting as if he wasn't. I wandered over to
them.
"Hi Zack." I said startling him.
"Hi... Do I know you?"
"I hope so." I said with a European accent, smiling. He looked at me for a few
seconds before it hit him.
"Jessi, oh my God. What are you doing here? When did you get in? Why didn't you
call?" He stood and gave my a big hug.
"I fine Zack, thanks for asking." I said with a smirk on my face. He laughed as
he withdrew.
"It is so good to see you." I was trying very hard not to look at the brown eyes
of the guy Zack had been talking to; "Oh, my bad. Jessi, this is Tommy. Tommy,
Jessi."
"Hey, nice to meet you." Tommy held his hand out. I took it.
"You too." I shook his hand then let go. Zack watched the exchange closely.
"Does Jason know you're here?" Zack said interrupting us. Tommy eyes were starting
to get to me.
"No, I just got in." I said looking away to Zack.
"Well come on, his class is almost over." We started walking over to the wall
closest to Jason. I was starting to get nervous.
"I can't do it Zack." I said stopped about teen feet short.
"Why not?"
"I just can't."
"Ok Jessi. Maybe tomorrow."
"Yea, maybe tomorrow." I gave Zack and of course Tommy my number and told Zack
to call me later. I said my goodbyes then walked out of the Youth Center, to my
car. I drove home carefully. I was trying not to cry. Why couldn't I do it? Why
couldn't I confront my own brother?
The next day was one of the scariest of my life.
I had gotten in the habit of waking up at five thirty in the morning and running
two miles every morning. It helped me stay in shape. And it was the only thing
the schools in Europe didn't disagree with. Central Park was a short distance
from my new home, so that's where I decided to go. I had a mile done when someone
came up behind me and knocked me down.
"What the hell..." As I picked myself up off the ground and turned around I noticed
a fist coming at me. I had just enough time to duck. I didn't notice the three
behind me. I took three blows before I started to fight back. What was really
weird, they were gray people. Almost clay like. I started fighting them off before
they over powered me. There were to many of them.
The next thing I knew, I had had been transported somehow to a strange room. It
was dark as I saw fog covering the floor. As I looked around, I noticed several
figures standing a distance away from me. I squinted to see them, I jumped when
I did. The biggest one was a big red mass of muscle. There was a gold plated baboon
or something, with wings and two blueberry looking things.
I can't remember exactly what happened, but it wasn't pretty. The muscle looking
guy was called Lord Zedd. Zedd for short. Whom I ended up calling master, in fused
with a power beam. It had made me sick to my stomach. I was put to sleep before
I was sent home. I woke up in me bed at home. I didn't remember much but I knew
something had happened. I had a silvery-red glow in my eyes, very unnatural and
evil.
The next day I began picking fights and beating people up. For no reason. When
I had caused enough trouble seven costumed people showed up. Called the Power
Rangers. When they did show, Zedd transformed me into a powerful being he called
the Silver Ranger. He didn't want my identity to be discovered.
I didn't know who stood behind the masks of the Rangers, but had I known I would
have done my best to stop. Escaping the Rangers, I was sent to what Zedd called
the Command Centre. I was supposed to destroy it. It didn't work. Instead I was
captured the instant I appeared. What was weird, I was captured by a green floating
head and his side kick so to speak. Somehow I had escaped the force field they
had me in, and was transported to Zedds chamber.
"Silver Ranger, you have done very well. I think you are ready for the ultimate
weapon." He cackled.
"Ultimate weapon?" I questioned. The sound of it just unnerved me.
The weapon was a sword. It didn't look 'ultimate' to me. Until I was told what
it would to. It turned out to be a duel sword; it could separate to become two
swords. As I separated them, the sound of electricity came to my ears. As I practiced
with them, Zedd began to laugh.
"Finally, the Rangers will be done for."
I was sent home with the weapon.
It was several days before I caused too much more trouble. The second fight with
the Rangers came quickly. I was able to capture three of them. I found them in
the same room that Zedd had infused my powers. The Red Ranger, the White Ranger
and the Bengal Tiger Ranger. The Tiger Ranger was the weakest of the three. The
White Ranger had escaped some how. Which left me with Red and the Bengal Tiger.
Red was put into a separate room.
The Tiger Ranger was weak, I almost killed him, but something held me back. I
had hurt him so bad he had changed back to his normal self. That's where I was
surprise to find out that he was a she. She looked very familiar to me. I stood
back from her. What was I doing? My common sense and sympathy was taking over.
The next thing I knew, I was on the floor in horrible pain. Screaming bloody murder.
My sword ended up being thrown across the room.
The fallen Ranger watched as a silver beam hit me. Zedd was infusing more power.
She tried coming closer to me.
"No. Get away." I screamed. I had what she called a morpher in my hand; "Here,
leave." I tossed it to her. After giving me a second look, she escaped. When she
was gone, so was the Red Ranger. Another wave of pain hit me. Zedd almost killed
me with the infusion. When it was complete, he sent me back to my home.
I slept for three hours before the phone woke me up.
"Hello?" I answered groggily.
"Hey Jess, this is Zack."
"Hey." I said shortly.
"I just wanted to know if you wanted to hang out with us this afternoon."
"Not today. I'm sick."
"Sorry to hear the Jess. I'll talk to ya later." I hung up the phone without saying
another word.
The evil had taken over again. The next two days I stayed inside my house. Not
answering the phone or knocks at the door. The third day, Zedd called upon me.
This fight was harder than I though. The Rangers and I fought for what seemed
like days upon days. I, again, captured the Red Ranger. Face to face, we tried
to kill each other. I finally had him where I wanted him. I was about to thrust
my sword into the Red Rangers chest when a light beam took hold of the sword and
began draining its energy. And mine as well. The Red Ranger began to laugh.
"That will show you not to mess with the Power Rangers." He blurted out. With
that, he vanished into thin air.
I fell to the ground, weak as anything. The same beam that drained my powers picked
me up and carried me to what seemed like beyond the regions of space. I wound
up in a large room with the same robot and green floating head that I was sent
to destroy over a week ago. I was still in my Ranger outfit and was no longer
evil, a little weak, but not evil. The duel sword was still in my hand. As I stood
up, I noticed it, then dropped it. The head introduced himself as Zordon and the
robot sidekick as Alpha Five. He explained to me what had just happened. He had
drained my powers and was transferring them for evil to good. I didn't notice
the seven people standing behind me. Zordon gave me an offer that unnerved the
rest of the Rangers. To become part of the Power Ranger fighting team.
I was speechless. I didn't know what to say or expect. Still weak, I almost fell
over. Alpha came up next to me and held me up. I looked at him.
"Can you give me some time to think on this?" I asked.
"I can give you thirty six hours." Slowly I nodded. Alpha turned me around and
headed me toward the back. That's when I noticed the other Rangers. Their helmets
hide their identity. Zordon teleported me home. I was back to normal.
Thirty six hours were not enough. I was so weak when I got home, that I sacked
out on my couch.
When I awoke, I noticed that I had slept for the first twelve hours. I thought
it was a dream until I noticed something on my wrist. Alpha had placed a communicator
on my wrist before I left. I knew now that it definitely wasn't a dream. I had
a lot of thinking to do. So I did what I did best. Practiced my sparring.
My gym out back was huge. I hadn't noticed it at first. I could have held a full
fledged competition here. I sparred for so long that I hadn't realized that another
six hours had gone by. I was finishing a set of spin kicks when I heard a knock
at the door.
"Hang on a sec." I yelled. I grabbed my towel and ran for the door. I opened the
door to find Zack standing there.
"Hey Zack, what's up?" I asked with a smile.
"Nothing, I was just wondering if you wanted to come to a picnic."
"Sure. Who's gonna be there?" I wondered.
"Well, me, Tommy, Kim, Trini and Billy. Jason has class, but he'll be by later."
I gave him a funny look. He knew I didn't want Jason knowing yet: "Come on Jess,
Jason isn't gonna be there til after six. He has a class right now. That gives
you three hours to catch up with everyone." I looked at my clock.
"Alright, but I'm only staying two hours."
"Close enough." He said with a smile; "You want me to wait for you?"
"Where you gonna be?"
"Central park."
"I'll see you there in about twenty minutes."
"Cool. See ya in a bit."
"Bye Zack." After I shut the door I ran up stairs to my room and hopped in the
shower.
Almost exactly twenty minutes later I ran into central park. I spotted them over
near a large tree. Tommy and Billy were working the grill. Zack saw me and jogged
over.
"Hey girl, glad you made it. Come on. Let me reintroduce you to everyone." As
we walked over the picnic table I almost couldn't keep my eyes off of Tommy.
"Hey," I stopped Zack in his tracks; "They don't know that Jason is my brother,
do they?" I had a worried look on my face, and a disturbed sound in my European
voice.
"Not last I knew no."
"Good, can we keep it that way for now?"
"Sure Jessi. Not a problem." As we walked over, Zack called out to them; "Hey
guys, you remember Jessi from a while back don't ya?"
"Sure." Trini perked up.
"Hi." I said a little to quietly. Faces I could remember, names however, were
another question.
"That's Kim, Trini, Billy and you already know Tommy." He pointed them out as
he said their names. Reminding me.
"Nice to see you again." Tommy said quietly. As he said it, I noticed Kim give
him a dirty look.
"You too Tommy." He held his hand to mine. I took his hand slowly, but withdrew
mine much quicker. Without being rude.
The picnic was small, but nice. I was able to take my mind off things for a while.
I looked at my watch. Not realizing that it was the communicator I was looking
at. Eighteen hours left. Jason would be here soon.
"Guys, I'm really sorry to cut this short, but I have to get going." I said standing
up.
"You sure Jess?" Zack's eyes were almost pleading for me to stay til Jason showed
up.
"Yes Zack, I really do need to go." I said quietly; "Later everyone." I waved
then ran off. I had timed it perfectly. As I took off I saw Jason's car pull in
the parking lot.
I walked though my door at about six. There was nothing for me to do, so I went
out back, sat down and watched the sky darken. At about nine, I went inside and
went to bed.
I woke at five thirty, my usual time. Three and half hours. It was starting to
concern me. Could I do it? Could I deal with that power again? I may not have
a choice. I got dressed and took my usual two mile run around Central Park. My
usual two turned into three and a half miles. I arrived at home at six o'clock.
I showered and had breakfast before heading out again. This time I just walked.
I walked over the Youth Centre. It wasn't open yet. So I made my way to the park
and sat beneath a large tree. Leaning back, I thought of Tommy. Those beautiful
brown eyes, his long brown hair and that pleasant smile. I had sat there for about
three hours, not realizing it.
Just then, I heard someone call my name. I opened my eyes and looked around. I
only recognized Tommy and Zack. There was a third person behind them. The closer
he got the more nervous I got. Jason. Zack had caught Jason's attention while
Tommy ran up to me.
"Hi Tommy, what's going on?" I asked.
"Just wanted to know if you want to go jogging with us." He asked with a smile.
I looked at Jason. He wanted to catch up with Tommy.
"Actually I..... can't. I have an ..... appointment. In," I looked at my watch;
"About half an hour." Just as I finished saying that, some sort of strange beeper
went off.
"Ok then. Catch ya later Jessi." He seemed in some sort of a hurry. After they
left, I stood up.
"Ok Zordon, I'm ready if you are." Just then, a silver beam picked me up and took
me away.
I landed in the middle of the Command Centre. Zordon repeated the question he
had asked me thirty six hour earlier.
"Well, there really isn't much for me to say except sure, why not. I don't see
what harm would it do?" I said with a grin.
"Then Jessi Scott, hold out your hand." When I did, a morpher appeared in my hand;
"Now Jessi, call on the powers of the Raptor-Pegasus." As I did, I morphed into
the Silver Ranger.
The outfit frightened me at first, until I realized that the power had been changed.
At that point I felt like kicking Zedd's butt.
"Rangers, please come to the Command Centre." Zordon called. I didn't see them
as they teleported behind me. A couple of them jumped when they saw me.
"The Silver Rangers powers have been successfully transferred to good. But doesn't
not yet have all of it." I cocked an eyebrow that Zordon couldn't see; "Silver
Ranger, reveal your identity to us." I turned around to see the other seven Power
Rangers standing behind me. When I saw them I choked. My twin brother was standing
in front of me. Along with Zack, Kimberly, Trini, Billy and Tommy. There was another
girl, but I couldn't see her that well.
I turned my head and looked at Zordon. He nodded his head in assurance and smiled.
I turned back to the rangers. Slowly I reached up to the clips on my helmet. I
unsnapped them hesitantly. Then slowly began to remove my helmet.
"Oh my God." I heard Tommy exclaim. Zack's jaw dropped, then turned into the hugest
smile. Kim and Trini just stared. Billy was speechless. Jason just looked at me.
He knew me from somewhere, but couldn't put his finger on it.
"Rangers, I'd like to introduce to you the Silver Ranger. Jessi. Jessi Scott."
"Rock on." Zack said as he almost started dancing around.
My eyes were on Jason. My brother hadn't seen me in so long, it almost didn't
register. I slowly walked over to him.
"Hi Jason." I was unsure of how to speak with my accent, knowing that Jason didn't
know where I had been the past eleven years. Only Zack knew what was going on
but he was so happy, he couldn't say anything.
I watched the realization grow on Jason's face. He looked at me and shook his
head slightly.
"It's good to see you after all of these years." I was holding my tears back.
He looked at the floor for a split second, then back at me. He knew.
"Oh my God." He said it so softly; "Oh my god." I wasn't ready for the hug he
threw at me. I welcomed him with open arms. I wrapped my arms around my brothers
neck and held tight to him.
"I can't believe it's you." I could feel his tears on my cheek, as I'm sure he
could feel mine.
The only one who wasn't confused was Zack.
"Back together again." He said with a giant smile on his face. It was a good two
minutes before Jason let me go.
"Is it really you?"
"Yes Jason, it's me."
"Jessi?" He said with a smile on his face and tears in his eyes.
"Yes." I couldn't help but smile. That's when Jason noticed everyone just standing
there with weird looks on their faces, except Zack.
Jason let go of me and turned me to everyone.
"Guys, um, I'd like you to meet Jessi." He hesitated; " My twin sister." He said
as he looked at me. The weird looks disappeared into surprised looks.
I noticed the look of almost relief on Tommy's face. I almost blushed. Almost.
Zack immediately came up and gave me a big hug.
"I knew you could do it." Zack leaned his forehead against mine and smiled.
"Thanks Zack." As Zack moved away from me, the shock started to dim from the others.
One by one, each came up to congratulate me. And Jason and my reunion. I didn't
know the last girl that came up. But I recognized her. The Bengal Tiger Ranger.
I was almost scared. She came up to Jason first.
"Jessi, this is my girlfriend Kristy. Kristy, this is my sister. Jessi." I stuck
my hand out.
"It's nice to meet you." She took my hand slowly, almost expecting me to do something.
I shook her hand lightly, and then let go. Everyone knew what I had almost done
to her.
"You too." She smiled softly and stepped away. Jason wrapped his arms around me
again. It felt so good to finally face him again.
"Jessi," Zordon interrupted. Jason let me go; "We must finish the final power
transfer. Everyone please stand away." Alpha had already moved to the other side
of the room; "When Zedd gave you these powers, he almost killed you. I need you
to stand away from everyone so that won't happen."
Jason gave me one last look before going to stand with the others. Zordon explained
that Zedd had infused my powers to fast. He was going to make it slow and steady.
I stood in the middle of the control area. A small silver beam came from nowhere
and hit me square in the chest. It almost knocked me over. This pain was nothing
compared to what Zedd had done. But it was still pain nonetheless. I stiffen and
drew my head back. Jason didn't like it.
"Zordon. You hurting her." He started to reach for me. I held out my hand to stop
him. I had dropped my helmet when the beam hit me. It disappeared before it hit
the floor. My fists were clenched along with my teeth
. I kept telling myself that it would go away soon. Just before the transfer was
over, my helmet was back on my head. Finally the beam stopped. I fell to the floor.
The transfer had weakened me more that the drain.
"Jessi." Jason exclaimed as he ran to my side; "Come on Jess, stand up." He helped
me carefully to my feet. When I was able to stand by myself, Jason backed away.
"How do you feel Jessi?" Zordon asked. When I got my concentration and strength
back I answered him.
"Like I could take on Zedd myself." I looked down at my ranger suit. I had a shield
similar to Tommy's. But it came down to my knees. I unclipped my helmet and took
it off. The design on my helmet had changed also. The front was that of a raptor
face, but the sides looked as if it has wings on it. The Pegasus.
"You very possibly could. And win." All eight of us stared at him; "When Zedd
gave you the powers he did not realize how much he gave you. You are now more
powerful than five of the rangers combined." Everyone looked from Zordon to me
then back. There was a look on his face that I couldn't read.
"Does this mean Jessi is in command now?" Asked Jason.
"Only if she feels she take on the responsibility right away. If not, it will
happen later."
"I didn't even know you guys had someone in command. Your teamwork suggests otherwise.
I know from personal experience." I commented.
"I'm in command." Tommy said stepping forward. Standing in front of me; "And we
are sorry about that."
"I understand the circumstances. Don't worry about it." I looked down at my feet.
"Jessi, because of your power you are able to control two zords."
"Zords?" I gave him a 'come again' look.
"Please follow Alpha." I took the head of the line followed by Tommy then Jason.
The others followed behind them. Alpha stopped at the edge of a cliff. The clouds
seemed to conform in front of my eyes.
"Jessi. Your zords. The first is the Raptor Thunder Zord and the second, the Pegasus
Thunder Zord." Images of them formed in the clouds above.
"Sweet." Zack said watching the sky.
The longer I looked at them, the straighter I stood and the more powerful I felt.
It was incredible. A few of the other rangers watched my reaction to this.
"Your zords will combine with each other to make a second Thunder Megazord. If
one is not needed, it can be used as a weapon." Zordon explained. When the explanation
was finish we all headed back into the Command Centre.
"What about a power weapon?" Jason inquired. All of this wasn't exactly my idea
of fun. I was the last in the room and caught the tail end of Jason's question.
"Jason, your sister already has a power weapon." I gave Zordon a funny look.
"I do?" I front of me the duel sword appeared. The one I almost killed my brother
with; "Oh no, no, no, no, no. Not that thing." I backed away from it.
"Jessi, the sword has been given the same power you have now." Slowly I stepped
forward and took hold of it. I took a better look at it. At the base above the
hand guard was my power coin insignia. I remembered how to use it instantly. I
pulled it apart slowly. Electricity flew through the air. Zordon explained that
when I needed it to raise the swords above me in the form of an X. A power beam
would shot out at the enemy. Billy came up to me.
"May I see one of those?" I handed him one; "The molecular structure is nothing
but energy."
After all was said and done. I had vowed to make three promises or lose my power.
First: never to use my power for personal gain. Second: never escalate a battle
unless Zedd forces it. And third: to always keep my identity a secret. With that,
the other seven teleported back to central park and I teleported home.
