My name is Jessi Scott. Born here in Angel Grove and brought up
all over the world. I have a twin brother named Jason. Sit back and listen to
my story and how it affected my life and my world.
Jason and I were born on October twentieth. My mom was rather excited about having
twins. Little did she know how much trouble it would be. When we were a year,
my father divorced my mother. My mother gave him the option to have custody of
one of the two of us. He decided against it. Around our third birthday, mom married
again. To a good man named Todd Corin. He loved Jason and I to pieces. Our biological
father showed up one day with custody papers. I was the one he chose to take.
Mom, Jason and Todd were heart broken.
I was about three and a half when my father figured that I was more trouble than
I was worth. He decided to start me in a Tae Kwon Do class. Cheap babysitter is
what he thought of it. And it instilled discipline. Knowing this, my mother enrolled
Jason in the same class around the same time. At least Jason and I would be together.
Or so she thought.
School age came quickly. My father wanted nothing to do with Alison (my mother),
Todd or Jason. So, he sent my to stay with my grandparents until school started.
Then, he shipped me to Ireland, to a boarding school.
I was shipped from school to school. They said it was because of my violent tendencies.
During grade school, I was sent from country to country, learning languages and
keeping up with my martial arts classes. It was the only thing I had to remember
my brother by. I missed him so.
I arrived in Hungry for the start of junior high. New martial art styles where
introduced to me. Tae Know Do was one thing, but these about blew my mind. My
new instructor was one of the best things to happen to me. It crushed both of
us when this school said the same thing as the others. I was too violent. I was
thirteen then.
I had been to nearly a dozen countries in seven years. I knew a dozen languages
and many forms of the martial arts. One summer break I elected to go to China
for competition. I ended up learning Wu Shu, Shotokon, Jujitsu, Judo, Kenpo and
a few others. I returned to Europe for High school. Germany was where I stayed
until I turned fifteen. I was able to return home then. After returning to Connecticut
to my grandparents for two weeks, I flew back to Angel Grove. I hadn't spoken
English since I was six, when I first went to Europe. It was very hard to adjust.
The Angel Grove Youth Center is where I first met my brother after ten years.
He had no clue who I was. I didn't tell him because I knew I would be going back
to Germany in a few weeks.
One person who did remember me was Zack. We had met when I was six, right before
I had left. I asked him not to tell Jason. He kept my wish. I ended up getting
a job through Ernie the owner of the youth Centre. It was a lot of fun.
Then, the Summer ended. I was sent back to Germany to start my sophomore year.
About a year and a half later, I came back to the U.S. and my brother permanently.
